Visitors guide and information to Lahontan Reservoir which has 69 miles of shoreline and nice opportunists for boating, jet ski, watercraft rentals, lake tours, camping, and fishing. Lahontan covers 12,000 surface acres when full and features fishing, water skiing, picnicking, boat rentals from our company, restrooms with showers and RV dump stations. Horseback riding and wildlife viewing are best in spring and summer months. Canoeing from Fort Churchill to the lake makes for a great day trip when conditions allow. Lahontan is located on the Carson River, 18 miles west of Fallon and 45 miles east of Carson City via U.S. 50. The park is open year-round and can be accessed from several entrances off U.S. 50 east of Silver Springs, and from an entrance off U.S. 95A, south of Silver Springs via Fir Avenue.
Lahontan dose allow four-wheel drive vehicles to launch their watercraft off beaches open to camping. Both sides of the park also provide paved boat launching and parking facilities. The Silver Springs boat launch is located near the day-use area, and fees to enter the park are required. The Churchill Beach boat launch, at the North Shore Marina, is located along U.S. Highway 50, one mile west of Lahontan Dam. Come and enjoy water sport and rentals at this lake in Nevada.
